What attracted you to working for RLWC2021?

I'm genuinely blown away by the chance to work at the RLWC2021. I'm a big sports lover and growing up as a kid (and even today) I would watch all kinds of sports and marvel at the big occasions and events - so to actually be involved in one is a dream come true.

The opportunity to contribute to a World Cup and everything that entails - the amazing sporting moments, the positive social impacts, and the chance to create a long-lasting legacy are a real draw and I cannot wait to get started.

What is your favourite sporting memory?

As a life-long Leeds United fan it's been a great year, with the club getting promoted back to the Premier League after a 16 year absence. But my favourite sporting moment comes from the darker times at Leeds, after the club were relegated to the third tier of English football.

Needing to win on the final day of the 2010 season to secure promotion back to the Championship, Leeds were down to 10 men and one nil down with 47 minutes on the clock. Against all odds my boyhood hero Jonny Howson equalised in the 58th minute before striker Jermaine Beckford took the roof off four minutes later, scoring the winner in front of me, my dad, and grandad in a full Elland Road stadium.

Just thinking about that moment sends a shiver down my spine; those celebrations with my family will stay with me forever. That's what sport is all about, and I can't wait to see more moments like it at the RLWC2021.
