Tara-Jane Stanley's three-try haul edged England closer to the Rugby League World Cup semi-finals as the hosts steamrollered Canada in Wigan.

They took the lead in the first minute through Leah Burke - the first of her two tries - and didn't look back, Stanley also contributed ten points with the boot.

Elsewhere, Hollie Dodd grabbed a double while Georgia Roche, Carrie Roberts, Georgia Wilson and Francesca Goldthorp crossed the line, with the Ravens only try from Petra Woods.

Papua New Guinea joined the hosts in making it two from two after cruising to a comprehensive 70-0 win over Brazil at Hull's MKM Stadium.

The Orchids had to work hard early on and were only 18-0 ahead at the break but the inexperienced Amazonas, shorn of suspended skipper Maria Graf, faded in the second half of what was only their second ever World Cup fixture.
