When will the Rugby League World Cup 2017 take place?

The Rugby League World Cup 2017 will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, with Papua New Guinea to host three pool games as the tournament's hosting partner. The tournament will open on 27 October 2017 and conclude with the Final on 2 December 2017.

When will tickets go on sale?

General release tickets will go on sale 27 October 2016 and when announced, details will be available at RLWC2017.com and promoted on Rugby League World Cup 2017 social media channels. On sale times will be local to the venue so will be staggered across the day.

How much are tickets?

Rugby League World Cup have developed an affordable ticket program that will caters for everyone. Tickets start from just $20 for adults and $10 for juniors for most pool matches (transaction fees may apply). Specific match prices can be seen by clicking on the event at RLWC2017.com/fixtures.

How can I buy tickets?

Tickets are available to purchase online by visiting rlwc2017.com/fixtures

How can I book special needs tickets?

What are the junior and concession tickets?

Junior: 4-15 years inclusive. 3 and under free on knee.
Concessions: Full government pensioners ONLY (Aged, Invalid, Sole Parent, War Veterans and War Widows). Full time school students up to 17 years of age with ID and full time tertiary students with ID (eg Uni, TAFE etc)

Are family tickets available?

Family tickets are available for all pool matches in category C. A family can be made up of 2 adults and 2 juniors, or 1 adult and 3 juniors.

Are there any ticket limits?

A ticket limit of 10 applies to all games.

Is there an option for group bookings?

Group bookings can be facilitated for up to 20 customers upon approval. For Group bookings please contact the below group booking lines:

What currency can I buy tickets in?

Tickets will be charged in the currency of the country the venue is located in. Therefore, regardless of where a customer is located, they will be charged in Australian Dollars for games located in Australia and New Zealand Dollars for games located in New Zealand.

Can I buy tickets for Australian and New Zealand games at the same time?

Please note that tickets cannot be purchased in one transaction across Australia and New Zealand matches. If you would like to purchase tickets for games in both countries, you will need to make two separate transactions. You can however use the shopping basket option to buy for more than one game within the same country.

When will I get my tickets?

All tickets, whether purchased online, via phone or at Ticketek Agencies will be held back for delivery or collection until June 2017. Check back to the event page for future updates. Tickets purchased from Ticketek Agencies will be posted out once available

Should I buy tickets from unauthorised sellers?

RLWC wish to advise for all RLWC event tickets, only tickets purchased from our official ticketing partner Ticketek (except for Perth which will be sold via Ticketmaster) or via an official travel or hospitality partner can be guaranteed to be valid. Tickets purchased through any other sources may not be valid and you may not be admitted to the event. For a full list of authorised sellers please visit rlwc2017.com

What are the supporter bays?

Supporter bays give customers the opportunity to sit with other supporters of the same country. The supporter bays will also come with a souvenir flag for that country. Details of flag collection on event day will be sent to customers closer to the time of the match.

What are the running times?

RLWC will advise the running times closer to the match. Please visit the event page for the most up to date information.

Tournament Details

Tournament Details

Fourteen teams will participate in the Rugby League World Cup 2017. The initial pool stage will involve two pools of four teams and two pools of three teams with all teams to play three pool matches. The top three teams from Pool A and B will proceed to the knock out stage of the tournament along with the top team from Pool C and D. The knockout stage will comprise Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and the Final.

What happens if teams finish on equal points at the end of the Group games?

The playing conditions for the tournament will be finalised closer to the event.

How do the Quarter/Semi Finals work?

The RLIF has approved that if Australia qualifies for a Quarter Final, it will play in Darwin. If NZ qualifies for a Quarter Final, it will play in Wellington.
If Australia and NZ were to play each other in a Quarter Final or Semi-Final, whoever finishes higher in the pool stage will get the home advantage.
If Australia and NZ make the Semi-Finals they will play in Brisbane and Auckland respectively.
The full Quarter Final fixture will be finalised at the conclusion of the pool stage, taking in to consideration hosting requirements.

How come where Australia and NZ play their QFs are pre-determined and the others aren’t?

As co-hosts of the Tournament, we want to give certainty to the Australian and NZ fans who want to pre-arrange travel to these matches to support their team.

When does PNG go onsale?

RLWC officials are working with the locals in PNG to set up an appropriate ticketing sales platform for the 3 matches that will be played there. Further information will be available in 2017. Customers should sign up to the RLWC newsletter to stay up to date with ticket information.

Who has won the previous Rugby League World Cup titles?

Up to and including the 2013 tournament only Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain have been crowned World Champions with Australia easily the most successful, winning ten of the fourteen tournaments. Great Britain have won three times, and New Zealand once.

What about the Rugby League Women’s World Cup?

This will be the first time the Rugby League Women’s World Cup has been played concurrently with the Men’s Tournament, creating a legacy for the game.

Women’s international rugby league is exciting to watched, played by gifted athletes with supreme skills and deserve to showcase their talent on the world stage. Both the Men’s and Women’s Finals will be played at Brisbane Stadium on the same day, and will conclude what will be the greatest Rugby League World Cup.
